Abstract

Teenagers are individuals who are easily influenced by other people, even the environment around them. Teenagers assume that other people can admire or criticize them and vice versa, supported by sophisticated technology, namely social media. Self-awareness is an individual's awareness of feeling and being aware of and identifying himself as a whole, including traits, emotions, feelings and character as well as how to adapt to the environment. The aim of this research is to determine whether there is a relationship between the psychodynamics of social media use and self-awareness. This research design uses quantitative cross sectional methods. The population of this study were all first semester students of ISTeK ICsada Bojonegoro with a research sample of 56 respondents. The research was carried out using a self-awareness questionnaire and the use of social media. The results of the research are that there is a relationship between the psychodynamic intensity of social media use and self-awareness with a significance value of ρ = 0.001 and correlation coefficient: -0.566.
