The Impact of Knowledge, Family Support, the Role of Health Personel on the Behavior of Cards to Healthy (KMS) by Mother in the Ngajum Community Health Center
Abstract
Background: KMS is a tool for mothers or parents and health workers that must be owned to monitoring the growth rate and development of toddlers by reading the growth line of toddler weight. The low use of KMS is due to the factors of knowledge, family support, and the role of health workers. This study aimed to determine the effect of knowledge, family support, and the role of health workers on the behavior of the use of KMS by mothers of toddlers in Ngajum Community Health Center.
Methods: This study used a descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional correlation design. The population is all mothers of children under five using random sampling. Techniques, and knowledge, family support, and the role of health workers as independent variables. The behavior of using KMS as the dependent variable. Data were collected using a questionnaire, the results were tested using linear regression.
Results: This study found that the role of health workers was mostly in the good category of 92 (78.6%), most of the good categories of family support were 94 (80.3%), the good category knowledge was 80 (68.4%), and the behavior was partly large enough good category for 88 (75.2%) respondents. The knowledge (p=0.002), which means that knowledge had an effect on behavior while for the role of health workers. The family (p=0, 941), so that there is no influence of the role of health workers and family support on behavior.
Conclusion: knowledge is the most influential factor in the behavior of using KMS. High knowledge has a positive impact on behavior because the higher the knowledge, the more mothers know the importance of using KMS so that it motivates good behavior in the use of KMS.
